Edit: welcome to Slackware forum
(every thing from memory, i was using gentoo for a long time on my friend's laptop, my office desk is slack and no tuxonice)

we have to compile sound drivers as modules and we have to unload and reload then during the hibernate and resume processes.
check these files (not sure)
common.conf, hibernate.conf suspend.conf
these two lines should be there and we have to specify our modules name here
1.UnloadModules
2. LoadModules

i think the suspend2 is moved on to tuxonice : please check this too

please check the gentoo wiki
regards

What soundcard are you using?

I don't need to unload the module for my soundcard to suspend/resume properly (Thinkpad t43p). But the alsa driver I had to use on my Thinkpad A22m had a bug that prevented it from properly resuming. The module name was snd-cs46xx, IIRC.

(It's been some time, but IIRC, I managed to get it to work by killing all programs using /dev/dsp*, dev/snd/* and dev/sound/* and then unloading snd-cs46xx. All these options can be set in hibernate.conf.)

Hey,

That worked !

I've modified the common.conf filies and the sound worked, not as i spected because when i play sound with Audacious and hiberanete ( without stopping the audacios ) the sound doesnt work .. I think it is a good idea to upgrade the kernel, becasue i use an Nvidia MCP61S. Thank you all .

suppose in future if u plan to use suspend then use tuxonice, the same suspend2 renamed to tuxonice so there will be the exact patch available for the latest kernel version

thankyou
