No SMP kernel for Slackware64 install?

Everyone, including Patrick himself, seems to suggest using an SMP kernel, but the only kernels I see available on the Slackware64 v13 DVD are huge.s and speakup.s

Am I missing something here? Is huge.s actually an SMP kernel in this case?

You're looking in the wrong place. The kernels are in the kernel package and there are SMP versions. Look for slackware64/k/kernel-* on the DVD.

I'm talking about a kernel to use for installation, those look like kernels that have to be compiled from source... unless that's what you're supposed to do before installing? Forgive me, this is the first time I've attempted installing Slack. I've been using Archlinux up until now.

I guess so.
Here is my slackware64 13.0 huge kernel:

Code:

root@slack-jleal:~# zcat /proc/config.gz | grep SMP
CONFIG_X86_SMP=y
CONFIG_USE_GENERIC_SMP_HELPERS=y
CONFIG_X86_64_SMP=y
CONFIG_SMP=y
CONFIG_X86_FIND_SMP_CONFIG=y
# CONFIG_X86_VSMP is not set
CONFIG_PM_SLEEP_SMP=y
CONFIG_SCSI_SAS_HOST_SMP=y
CONFIG_VIDEO_VP27SMPX=m

The 64-bit Slackware kernels are all SMP.
