Question No Network is showing in wifi scan , slackware64-current RTL8723BE PCIe wireless Network Adapter

i have brought a new laptop and installed slackware64-current , how ever i am not able to connect to wifi
In lspci it is showing the exact wifi device

"Network controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8723BE PCIe wireless Network Adapter"

in ifconfig -a it shows wlan0 with mac-id

in iwconfig it shows
"wlan0
IEEE 802.11bgn ESSID: off/any
Mode:Managed Access Point: Not-Associated Tx-Power=20 dBm
Retry short limit:7 RTS thr=2347 B Fragment thr: off
Encryption key: off
Power Management: off"

i have tried all the ways mentioned in docs slackware and other things on net

i have installed wicd from extra and ran the client, in that it is not showing any network while scanning

when i give iwlist wlan0 scan it shows "wlan0 No scan results found"

where as i am using this same wifi to type this thread in another machine at my home , so i know there is network , but it is not showing at all in the machine...could you all help i have been behind this since 2 days and i cant figure it out

By the way i forgot to mention that the machine which i am typing is from slackware 14.0 which i installed 3 years back , in this machine also it took a while to figure out at that time , so now when i check in my old machine for conf files like rc.wireless , wpa_supplicant , etc i dont see anything related to my wifi in these config files but this still works and i dont how.. please help me

No Network is showing in wifi scan , slackware64-current RTL8723BE PCIe wireless Network Adapter

Could it be a hardware key to toggle WiFi on and off ?

@All the problem is solved now , it was a bug in RTL8723BE driver.

The solution to overcome is

goto this github for the fixed driver "https://github.com/lwfinger/rtlwifi_new/tree/rock.new_btcoex" git clone it or download the zip

then "make" from the top level dir ...ie; not the rtl8723be folder
then "make install"

then in "/etc/modprobe.d/" create a file named 50-rtl8723be.conf and add this line without quotes "options trl8723be ips=0 ant_sel=2"

save the file and reboot the machine and it will work fine

@All thank you for your support , i am marking this thread as solved the above written is for others reference as there is lot many netbook/laptops coming with this Realtek 8723be card...
