no more sound

Hey, I just rebooted my comptuer and when I loged back in I didn't have any sound. It was working just fine untill I upgraded using swaret and updatedb. I have on board sound on my Asus A7N8X-E and i'm using the 2.6 kernel that was on the slackware cd. I tried alsaconf but it didn't find anything.

You should try installing the nvidia sound drivers from the unified Nforce 2 drivers. That worked on my 2.4.26 kernel, it should work on yours too.

ok I installed them "sh Nforce <whatever>" and I even rebooted and I still don't have any sound

xquizit read the information of the nforce drivers on how to use them, also you don't need to reboot to get things working

Hey it works hahaha but I can only change my volume using nvmixer. but atlest I have sound now. I know I dont have to reboot its just that my ethernet stoped working and ifconfig eth0 up did work
