Yes - ping with google produces the same results.

I can't open a browser - but I don't know why.
Upgrade software in gslapt produces the: can't connect to the repository error.

Maybe there was something wrong with the Absolute 13.1.6 iso image.
I downloaded an original Slackware 13.1 now and will install that one, if there is no way to find out what's wrong with my install. What do you think?

Perhaps you didn't install everything, or the instal went wrong

Did you set a correct mirror in the conf file?
What happens if you use (as root)
Code:
slackpkg update
slackpkg upgrade-all
slackpkg install-new
slackpkg install patches
Code:

I would go for the real thing, slackware :-)

Kind regards

More easy type:

Quote:
ping -c 3 www.google.com
If you got something like this:

Quote:
root@cepolin:/home/cepo# ping -c 3 google.com
PING google.com (74.125.230.83) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from 74.125.230.83: icmp_req=1 ttl=53 time=26.2 ms
64 bytes from 74.125.230.83: icmp_req=2 ttl=53 time=24.9 ms
64 bytes from 74.125.230.83: icmp_req=3 ttl=53 time=25.4 ms
Your connection is working. Like the Guru said, check you network
in browser not in G-slapt. There can be more things why G-slapt
is not working.
