no icons in the system tray

My icons aren't showing up in the system tray after the recent July 16 upgrades to xorg.

Anyone else getting this?

Everything looks good here.
I reinstalled the proprietary Nvidia driver (9600 GT) twice yesterday.
Once for the mesa update, and a few hours later for the other string of X updates.

Those with problems should probably post the card/driver they're using (Intel again?)

Also is compositing being used?
(not using it here.)

Using nvidia here and no icons. Not sure if I am using compositing or not, how do you check?

My machine also crashes out of X if you do the following
Quote:
System Settings/ Desktop (enable desktop effects)/ All Effects
, has anyone else seen this behaviour?

I'm using nvidia 185.18.14 drivers, which I re-installed after xorg updates
Tried removing the system tray and re adding it, but that didn't do it.

No compositing enabled whatsoever, but the problem is the same whether compositing is on or off.

Well, I did all the simple stuff. xorgsetup, reinstalled the driver, still the same.

XFCE works tho.
