No Download information during Download??

This morning I've noticed that when I download distro.iso from distrowatch.com I get no information displayed about the download progress.
While a previous download was in progress, I didn't think anything was working so I deleted the distro.iso and distro.iso.part without checking the properties of distro.iso.part.

Now when I try to download distro.iso I get the following error message:
Quote:
/home/larry/Downloads/distro.iso could not be saved, because an unknown error occurred.

Try saving to a different location.
If I click on distro.iso.part during the download, I can see the size in MB is for progress. When the file is done downloading the iso file is removed
from my Downloads subdirectory after the error message is displayed.

I've powered off my Laptop, removed the battery, waited 2 minutes and powered up. I get the same type results.

How can I get the Download information functional without a re-install, and the iso saved?? I don't get
the Download Complete messages either.

Thanks.

Larry

Hi,

Try renaming the download file name to something unique. Look at the Downloads directory with 'ls -al'. Do a 'man ls'.

onebuck,
I'm downloading the ISO again and nothing looks strange in the ~/Downloads Subdirectory:

Onebuck,
I finally found the problem. I did a reset of Firefox 16.0.2, and my problem is gone.

THANKS.
