The user on this post was able to fix his bluetooth issue by removing the bluetooth package (possibly removing any altered files/directories that are flagged during the removepkg process) and reinstalling it.

I followed the instructions in the other post.NO luck.Used grep command after every step
1...rc.bluetooth stop. grep..me...grep blue
2,removed bluez and reinstalled
3...rc.bluetooth start grep...root..../usr/sbin/bluetooth -d
me....grep blue
4.clicked blueman-manager in settings.grep....root..../usr/sbin/bluetooth -d /usr/bin/python2.7 /usr/bin/blueman-manager. Nothing happened.
me....grep blue
for fun downgraded to ConsoleKit-0.45&GConf that goes with it.Under 4-5 minutes I was able to shunt music to my bluetooth speaker.
Not sure what I say makes sense or not. ? a auto-started bluetooth applet naturally in desktop tray is critical for normal function. Dbus-launch blueman-applet puts the bt-applet on tray but function not complete.Adds device, does not connect
What are the common causes for failure of bt-applet to auto-start and show the bluetooth applet on desktop tray.?permission problem in my case-for my education
Thanks for trying to help me
