NIC not installed anymore, KDE not installed anymore, LILO duplicate Volume ID error

I am having a ton of issues and I have searched for the past month now on how to fix them so here I go with my first post and I have been a member since 2006.

Machine installed on: Toshiba Satellite A665-S6070 i7 core with 8GB of DDR3 RAM installed.

LILO Duplicate Volume ID error shows up twice when I get past post so I tried fixing that and I messed up the MBR and since I am Dual booting with Win7 I had to use a recovery disc to get the MBR back and reinstall LILO, I used the lilo -z -M and that messed things up.

Now I have no NIC which I had working successfully upon install. The NIC is a Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC

And KDE is also in the bag so can anyone help??

You must tell us what happened? Did you changed anything on your system? Install/remove any packages?

No, I kept having lockup's while in KDE and on boot while dmesg was being output to the screen. My admin skills are kinda poor because I have never had the opportunity to learn and I just always blew my installs away when they got sick, honestly because it was so much easier that way. Now I am not going to do that, I need to learn how to repair a sick Linux install. Oh, I forgot to mention that I recompiled the kernel and yes, I feel like a huge horses ass right now. The lockups happened before the kernel rebuild both in KDE and boot and that is why I recompiled. Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it.

P.S. KDE and my NIC worked after the recompile, wireless was as well and was total crap, it was slow as all heck. After the last lock up, I had to power the machine down and I just went back to using Windows again.
