nfsd in current

I'm having some troubles with nfsd in slackware-current.

When I start the service, I get the following error messages:
Quote:

WARNING: Error inserting sunrpc (/lib/modules/2.6.33-smp/kernel/net/sunrpc/sunrpc.ko): Invalid module format
WARNING: Error inserting auth_rpcgss (/lib/modules/2.6.33-smp/kernel/net/sunrpc/auth_gss/auth_rpcgss.ko): Invalid module format
WARNING: Error inserting lockd (/lib/modules/2.6.33-smp/kernel/fs/lockd/lockd.ko): Invalid module format
FATAL: Error inserting nfsd (/lib/modules/2.6.33-smp/kernel/fs/nfsd/nfsd.ko): Invalid module format
The mount fails from the clients with the error message:
Quote:

mount.nfs: access denied by server while mounting jupiter:/media/Backup
A look at syslog from the server side gives:
Quote:

exportfs: exports duplicate symbol exportfs_decode_fh (owned by kernel)
mountd[28198]: getfh failed: No such device
kernel: exportfs: exports duplicate symbol exportfs_decode_fh (owned by kernel)
Any idea what's going on?

Two things. #1 You really should be using the generic kernel. #2 This problem may have been fixed in the latest kernel package in -current.

You're definitely right about #1: "stupid me" forgot to switch to the generic kernel after the last kernel update in current. So I switched now to a generic kernel but this doesn't solve the problem. I am still getting the same error messages.

Edit: solved after reboot of the server. Thanks XGizzmo

You need to rebuild the current kernel as follows to fix module issues:

cp /boot/config-huge-2.6.33 /usr/src/linux-2.6.33/.config && cd /usr/src/linux-2.6.33 && make && make modules_install && cp arch/x86_64/boot/bzImage /boot/vmlinuz && lilo && echo “blacklist nouveau” >> /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf && telinit 6

Note that his is for the huge kernel - substitute as necessary ...
