next version of slack?

Hey everyone,

I recently wiped slack 9.0 off my webserver and installed XP since i needed an extra gaming machine for a few days, but now i'm wondering whether I should:

A-Install slack 9.0 again off the cd

B-Download, verify, burn, and install slack 9.1 (if so, what are the real benefits?)

C-Wait for slack 10, which i assume will have the 2.6 kernel. My main question about this is; how close is the 2.6 kernel to coming out? I seem to gather from slashdot articles that its nearing release, but about how long?

Also, as a side question, how do I chose not to install a specific package durring the install? I want to use apache 2, so i want to prevent it from installing 1 along with slack.

Thanks,
-Fibbi

It's one matter 2.6.0 being released, another when enough it's truly production ready. After all we are now on 2.4.22. The first few 2.4.x releases were only for the brave.

I did this and it worked great. Actually, I swareted my way to Slackware-CURRENT with the exception of the kernel. I will probably do the kernel this weekend.
