newbie XFCE question


How do I make my desktop background change? Its just blue... I have already gone to settings and Desktop, had already seted the background I want but nothings happens... and if I right click in the desktop no menu appear ...

so for those who are used to xfce this must be a peace of cake ;D

you should get a menu when right-clicking

setting the background in the desktop prefs should work

try running
Code:
ps ax | grep desktop
and see if xfdesktop is running

Also, if you're using Nautilus, it will hijack your desktop with the default startup options. Use Nautilus with the --no-desktop option to prevent it from doing that.

I will test when come home...

is there any battery status monitor or system monitor (applets) ?

in Nautilus is there anyway when you double click on a folder for it to open in the same window and not in a new window...
