I did build the new OpenSSL from source on my Slackware-current machine. I uninstalled the 1.0.2e version. However, after uninstalling the solibs from that version, my wireless quit working on NetworkManager and Pulseaudio quit working. So, I had to reinstall the solibs.

I usually roll my own using the script from -current, with a small modification, and both files it creates always work, incuding the most recent 1.0.2f.

I decided to use the SlackBuild script in current to upgrade to the new OpenSSL. Now, I have up to date solibs on my -current box.

Not sure I understand what you are doing.
The openssl.SlackBuild script should create two files, 1,

openssl-1.0.2f-x86_64-1.txz,

and, 2,

openssl-solibs-1.0.2f-x86_64-1.txz,

and place them in your /tmp directory.
From there you can install them.
Of course, if you are running 32-bit Slackware, the appropriate 32-bit files will be created, not 64-bit.

Yes, I did get and install both the new openssl and openssl-solibs packages.
