new nvidia driver f/up

Tried new nvidia driver with same resulting multiple colored bars as before. Tried modprobe agpgart and nvidia before startx with no change. One responder mentioned disabling frame-buffer. How does one do that? And has that worked for anyone? I am running current with 2.4.31 kernel. Thanx.

The framebuffer is enable or disabled in the Device Drivers and Graphics support sections of your kernel configuration (when compiling kernel).

thanx for info. Guess wont be trying futzing with framebuffer. Last compiles worked but nvidia problem persisted. So will keep present config. and await new SLW version.
