new kernel, lots of RAM use

hi people,

i just got the 2.6.9 kernel
before i had 2.4.26.
with the previous kernel, on shell (without any GUI running) it used around 9M of RAM.. now it uses 168M of RAM. even windows 2003 server uses less.

is that normal?

ps: yes it is -buffer

ok nevermind,

i rebooted and it went back to normal. must be a memory leakage somewhere.
