new current updates broke my eeepc

Another ton of updates to current this week, including new gcc and kernel.

Ran lilo after the upgrade. Now all I get is:

"Loading LinuxHugeEBDA is big; kernel setup stack overlaps LILO second stage"

(LinuxHuge is what I call my huge kernel boot while I troubleshoot the generic kernel boot - generic still won't automount my /usr SD card)

Loading my LinuxGeneric prints almost two rows of dots across my screen and then just hangs.

what can I do?

I'm running in 512K of RAM off a 2G SDD HD with /usr on a 16G SD card. I can get to all my data using the install media and mounting all the partitions under /mnt, but I haven't been able to get lilo update with lilo.conf modifications - none of the files are in the right place, mounted under /mnt instead of /

current is awfully exciting, but I think I'll stick with stable...once 14 comes out -- 13.37 isn't quite modern enough for my purposes anymore.

You have to chroot into the mounted partition if you want to run lilo and update the config.

Thanks H_TexMex_H,

I forgot about chroot.

"large-memory" after the "boot = /dev/sda" line in /etc/lilo.conf fixed the problem.

All better now...

Thanks again!
