Question NetworkManager

I don't use a desktop environment like KDE, so I can't "add the KDE "Network Manager" widget to your desktop" like the changelog says. I use Openbox standalone. I can start NetworkManager with rc.networkmanager, but how do I manage it? The NetworkManager web site doesn't even say. I found a nmcli command-line program, but surely there's a GUI for it.

You can use this SlackBuild:

http://slackbuilds.org/repository/13...anager-applet/

to build the GUI for network-manager. You should change the version to 0.9.2 and build this one.

Thanks. Is it just me or does the network-manager-applet compile die with the following?

Code:
sed: can't read /tmp/SBo/package-network-manager-applet/etc/dbus-1/system.d/nm-applet.conf: No such file or directory

No, you are not alone. I just had the exact same problem.

Edit: Way too slow, do as nblxxx suggested.

Did that and also had to changed the compression suffix on the source file I downloaded from gnome/networkmanager...
Didn't help.

Bingo! That did it.
Thanks you very much!
Networkmanager 0.9.4 is about as flaky as wicd and I wanted to be able to use 0.9.2 in both KDE and Xfce 4.10, but couldn't find a applet for 0.9.2. Problem solved.
Thanks, again.
