Under your nick your Distro is listed as -----> Distribution: Mandrake 9.2
Ahh if your running Mandrake your asking in a -----> Slackware section of the forum :-)
i ran netconfig again and entered all of my ISP-provided values (which work for the MacOS X computer i'm typing on now):
machine name: adsl-67-122-xxx-xxx.dsl.pltn13
domain: pacbell.net
(do these even matter?)
(I tried several host/domain combos both made-up and registered...)
You mention at one point about a router. Do you have a separate router that is plugged into the dsl modem and then your box is plugged into the router? If so, then if dsl is like cable, those settings from your ISP are actually to be put into your router settings, not your box. Let us know.
