Hello !

Typing netscape in a terminal or run menu/launcher in Gnome brings up the netscape profile screen, but when I click the start netscape/navigator button the browser fails to appear.

Gnome 2.2 and Netscape were both installed from the Slack 9 cd installer. I did not install mozilla. The only network package I installed was ppp.

The actual file 'netscape' is a script to run netscape-bin. When I go to the system process monitor it is listed under sh - netscape-bin (although without browser).

It has loaded only once from gnome (fresh boot, gdm root login) and ran fine under windowmaker.

My XFree86Config file is ok so the problem is not video card related. Are there any other log files to check?

ok, here's what comes up when run from the terminal:

Had errors in the install.log here methinks

Also the default
netscape shell script I am running and in the same directory (/usr/lib/netscape) the run-mozilla.sh file (it links to?).

no browser recommendations yet?
