netflix not working

I have just installed slackware on my old 2007 macbook, i really like it except for this one thing. whenever i try to watch netflix on firefox, i downloaded a newer version. i get error code f7355. i have the 32 bit version of slackware so i can't install chrome and chromium and chromium based browsers will simply not load any webpage except for the settings.

What version of Slackware? I have a Chromium package for Slackware 14.2 (32bit) which works for me. If you have Slackware 14.2 installed, you must ensure that you are fully uptodate with all the patches released for the distro, or else many 3rd party packages (like my Chromium) will not work.

I'm sure the answer is yes, but, just to be thorough, in the Firefox Edit-->Preferences, did you enable DRM? If that option is not available, the version of FF you are using may be too old.

Here's what Netflix has to say about that error message.

Oh, and welcome to LQ.

If I ran Slackware. I would look something like widevine as a plugin for my Firefox install to watch netflicks.

Good luck.

Off topic.

With the money netflicks makes. You figure they would hire some linux employees.
I'm uneducated. But netflix works on my gear.

i fixed the issue by updating to slackware current, everything works and it turns out that my old macbook can run 64 bit linux

I didn't see this sooner, so it's too late now but might help someone else, but Vivaldi is Chromium-based and has a 32 bit version for Linux.

I actually tried that, didn't work and had the same issue as chromium where nothing will load except for the settings
