Netcfg for slackware 13.37

I just switched my laptop over from Arch to Slackware and I have a bunch of profiles for netcfg that I would like to be able to use, but I can't seem to find a slackbuild for netcfg anywhere. I can't even find the source to "attempt" to build it myself. Am I SOL or am I just missing something.

...And yes I know wicd does profiles, but I want console access and the ability to have my profiles as portable script files. I use netcfg on my other arch installs and would like to keep things consistent.

netcfg is an Arch Linux specific tool. It is developed by Arch for Arch. Therefore, any configuration for netcfg would not be portable outside of other Arch systems (although it is unclear exactly what you mean when you say you "want ... to have my profiles as portable script files").

you would use netconfig in slackware and you could copy the relevant files out of /etc, but as to portability, you'd want to compare the structure and syntax of the relevant files in your new slack install with your other arch installs and make a decision as to whether they're compatible and usable...I don't use Arch and though I know it is built on Slackware, I have no knowledge to share in that regard

Oh O.K.

Yeah now that you mention it, I do kinda remember reading that in their wiki. Crap. I love netcfg. What I ment by "...portable... blah blah" was just having each hard-wired and wireless profile saved as a separate file under /etc/network.d/ and being able to copy them from machine to machine and just call them from the console. ex. netconfig hotel_x or netcfg client_x or netcfg piece_of_hardware_x.

Is there any other command line tool like it that I could use?

FYI wicd has wicd-cli and wicd-curses clients that work in console.

Thanks for you all's quick responses. I just realized I should probably mark this as solved since my original question was answered. Maybe I'll give wicd-cli a try. Or maybe I'll just stick with manual ifconfig and iwconfig commands with a wpa supplicant when needed.
