need help with 10.2 on usb hd
 
hi to all
i am tring to install slackware 10.2 om my new external usb disk
when i boot the install dvd i select scsi.i for the kernel
with no problem i finish the install but when i reboot my pc
after the loading of vmlinuz i obtain
kernel panic......................
please append correct root

i use extlinux for booting the usb drive and this is my disk partition

sda1 /boot ext2
sda2 /fat 32 for winzoz
sda4 /
sda5 /swap



my extlinux.cfg
kernel /vmlinuz
append root=/dev/sda4



please help me

yes i follow the istruction
i install mbr.bin in sda with the command
cat mbr.bin > /dev/sda
then install extlinux with the command
./extlinux /mnt/sda1

rebooting the machine cause the start of the kernel
ending with the kernel panic unable to mount root /dev/sda4 or 0:00
please append a correct boot option root
or something like this
