need help enabling R300 driver in X
 

hello,

I'm running Slackware 11 on an IBM thinkpad t42p, and I just learned that I might be able to use the experimental R300 mesa driver to get 3D acceleration working in X rather than the propretary driver made by ati. The only caveats about doing this is that it requires at least mesa 6.3.2, which I'm not sure how to check, and it requires a certain flag to enable the build of the driver when compiling, and I'm not sure where to enter that in the Slackbuild. Could anyone give me aome advise on how to accomplish these things. I've read through the SlackBuild for X on the source disc, and I can't tell where mesa is even compiled.

Ok, I just unpacked the X source code, and it seems like the r300 driver is included in the extras directory, so that answers my question about being able to compile it. Can anyone help me enable r300 in the stock x11 slackbuild?
