Damn! This is a beautiful thing. Just used it in the real world for the first time, and thought it was worth a bump thru the system.

As I used it:

#!/bin/bash
LAMEOPTS="-V 1"

for FILE in *.wav ; do
    OUTNAME="${FILE%%.wav}.mp3"
    lame $LAMEOPTS "$FILE" "$OUTNAME"
done
