Nagios installation "htpasswd.users" error

Hi guys,

I have a problem with Nagios installation in Slackware.

I installed nagios using sbopkg (slackbuild scripts). I really installed and I followed documentation that was provided in slackware docs:- http://docs.slackware.com/howtos:sof...s_on_slackware.

Now my problem is when I create a nagios users or even if its nagiosadmin using following command
Quote:

# htpasswd -c /etc/nagios/htpasswd.users nagiosadmin
The thing is that when I open up my browser and hit http://localhost/nagios, it prompts with nagios username and password but never logs me in no matter what I do. I have installed nagios in various Linux Distro (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu, openSUSE) and it did work perfectly fine. I even tried creating new users but it didn't work and what I found out is that if I create new users in htpasswd.users, the new users doesn't add up but it overwrites the previous user.

I think I have done everything exactly same and I have done this 4 times already and I am still doing it to find a problem. If anyone could kindly help me regarding this issue.

Cheers

I think you have encountered the bug described here: htpasswd no longer working after upgrade to 14.0

There are work-arounds in that thread which may help.

Thanks so much bro, I am very grateful for your reply and I don't know why I didn't see this before.

Now, its perfectly clear what the problem was.

Cheers
