My Screen is crazy!!!!

Hi there,,, recently I got a problem with my xorg configuration,,, well I configured xorgconfig and my video card sis 730, using the driver of sis620 coz I didn't find sis 730, but that's ok it worked, well recently a friend of mine said that I could configure my video card with the apropriate driver using the xorgcfg for the x system, and I did it, but, when the computer restarted the x system didn't open anymore, well I returned to the xorgconfig and did all the steps using sis620, well the x entered ok, but I got a virtual screen,,, and it is driving me nuts, coz I can't disable it, I didn't choose the virtual screen mode.

The most interesting thing of this is that my brother in law had the same problem a week ago and he reformated his slackware, but I don't want to go to the same kind of resolution!!!

Thankss I hope you could help me!!!

What do you mean by virtual screen?
You shouldn't reformat your drive to get rid of something that you made, i mean, if you could do that, i'm sure you can undo it

Virtual Screen

By virtual Screen I mean when you got a screen in a diferent size than your actual resolution.

For examplo you have a resolution 1024x768 and your monitor is showing a resolution 800x600, then what happens, your screen is not completely showed, and your mouse moves to the edge of the screen until it reaches the rest of it.

help hehehe

Check out your /etc/X11/xorg.conf and see if there's a Virtual/ViewPort line indicating a virtual screen, check man xorg.conf for more info about them.

have you tried pressing CTRL ALT +/- ? It could be that 800x600 is shown before 1024x768 in the "screen" section of the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file, thus giving you a screen res smaller than the desktop res.
