Well you've convinced me to try Slackware again - always like enthusiasm for a product (I'm a SuSE junkie but I think I'll need a fallback).

I think I became a overnight junkie. I have never used slackware until about a week ago. I have been using debian for a while and have gotten into freebsd. I read that slackware is the linux most like unix. So I thought why not try it. I have to say this is the most fun and excitement I have had with a distro ever. I can't believe how amazing slackware is. It was the easiest distro I have ever set up and the funnest to use. It is so easy to do everything, and everything is well documented in some place or another. I give a great job to all who develops and works on slackware.

I have a bad habit of getting a Slackware machine working the way I like, then slacking off. When it comes time to install it on another machine, I have to figure it all out again. Yes, I'm a slacker.

It is like most any other addiction. I first installed Slackware back in the early nineties and I still come back, every time.

Talking

Ya know I'm a addict too What can I do.
I've tried also to change distros while using
slackware because of a stupid reason, but I went
back because once you use slack you'll never leave.
Now I'm so stuck on it this is "THE" distro for me
because I'm so used to it's cool console based tools
and modifying the .configs that gives you more control on what's
going on.

I need to stop rambling.... lol

Peace

I just started using Linux a couple of years ago. Prior to that, I thought Linux was a cat in South America. I started out with SUSE, then Debian, and about 2 weeks ago I tried Slack 12. I did the typical newbi hose / re-install thing several times learning to set it up and install packages. Some of the members on this forum were kind enough to guide me through a Guarddog firewall install and after that, I started learning more. It's sort of like a snowball rolling downhill. The other night instead watching re-runs on the tube, I learned how to install flash 9 on Slack. Yeah, I'm hooked. Slack is beyond my current skill level and that's why I'm not likely to give it up.

My name is Richard, and I'm addicted.
