multilib question

I want to run 32bit apps on my 64bit slackware
I don't want to build 32bit apps
so what 32 bit libraries should I install for wine
the dependency list is in individual library files
can I make it simple and install slackware/l/*

I simply followed Alien Bob's instructions here,

http://alien.slackbook.org/dokuwiki/...kware:multilib

and have had no problems running WINE.

Best Wishes for a Happy New Year!

yea but here is the part about this setup I don't want any part of

Quote:

/etc/profile.d/32dev.sh
This is the same script that comes with Slamd64. It reconfigures your shell environment so that it will be easier for you to compile 32-bit software (by preferring the 32-bit compilers and libraries over their 64-bit versions)
it's this part I want to stay as far from as I can

"(by preferring the 32-bit compilers and libraries over their 64-bit versions)"

with the extremely rare exception of programs that use 32bit assembly code
(the only example of this I have ever found is open source duke nukem )
I want every thing I build to be 64bit

Well then, it is simple. Do not use ". /etc/profile.d/32dev.sh". There, that was easy wasn't it?

Read the instructions better, then do don't have to be all panicky. That script is not needed unless you want to build 32-bit binaries. The rest of the stuff is needed if you want to run 32-bit binaries.
