mtools update?

Hi All,

I'm wondering if there's a reason why mtools (part of the "floppy" package) has not been updated since 2001. I've not been able to find anything about it by searching the web, though it's been my experience that when packages are not updated in Slackware, it's for a good reason.

I'm only asking because the older version of mtools causes a hiccup in gparted when you try to change a disk's label. Gparted is expecting the newer syntax (the '-i' option in particular) when running the 'mlabel' utility. Things work properly with the latest version of mtools, but since I'm packaging for others I am not inclined to push an update that may break other utilities.

Thanks!

This directory contains mtools.
Mtools is a collection of utilities to access MS-DOS disks
from GNU and Unix without mounting them
No changes in "MS-DOS" → → no changes to 'mtools'.

Not the only piece of perfect/bug-free old software getting no updates.
Some of the other examples may now and then receive a new patch :
To compile with a later gcc/g++.
