Post msdos formatted floppy showing 8.3 filenames


In slackware 9.1, on mounting msdos formatted floppies, the filenames were show in 8.3 format. how to solve this problem?

my /etc/fstab for /dev/fd0 shows 'auto' for filesystem type.

Edit the /etc/filesystems file to put 'vfat' before 'msdos'. If you don't have one, create a new one based on /proc/filesystems
