mrtg on squid does not work after slackware upgrade

Hello everyone,
I have recently upgraded some servers to slackware64 14.0.
it looks as if mrtg has stopped reading information off squid correctly and the mrtg graphs have stabilised in their last values.

running
Quote:
mrtg /etc/mrtg/mrtg-squid.cfg
gives the following:
Quote:
root@stargaze:~# mrtg /etc/mrtg/mrtg-squid.cfg
SNMP Error:

The squid.mib file I am using is older but should work with this version of squid. The mid.txt found under /user/share/squid/mib.txt, if used as the replacement for the squid.mib, causes all sort of error (from a different pc - don;t be alarmed):

anyone else had trouble with migrating their mrtg + squid configuration?

Thank you very much for your help!
