mri adsl modem/router connection

I have just installed my old slackware 9.0
onto my computer and although I had configured the MRI AR-205 adsl modem/router via its browser
config manager and got it working with my main comp, dual booting Suse 10.0 and winxp, the modem worked fine. I just can't seem to get it working on Slackware.
Can anyone let me know what my next step or steps should be.

Hi,

Are you able to communicate with the router using Slackware?

If not, is your NIC/interface configured for Slackware?

What is the output of;

#ifconfig -a
#route -n

Relative output of dmesg for the network.

Are you on network too? For my non-network setup without router adsl-setup got my dsl going.And adding adsl-start to /etc/rc.d/rc.local got connection on boot. Without networking and only adsl modem/router setting up nic with dhcp and then adsl-setup should work. Many threads have handled this topic. Wish the LQ search engine was easier. Good luck.

connection fixed!!!

Well, thanks guys. I had prepared all the different command responses requested and then just thought I would try NETCONFIG one last time, changed a couple of things ie. static to dhcp. no luck. Rebooted and wahaay. There it was Mozilla home site in all its glory.
Thanks again. Now to fix my wheelmouse.
