mplayer your system is too slow after updating slackware current
After updating slackware current on every file i get this msg
MPlayer 1.0rc2-4.1.2 heres log Code:
[VO_XV] It seems there is no Xvideo support for your video card available.before updating slackware-current everything worked well with the same version it happens on every file i want to play, how can i troubleshoot it? i tried -vo xv and x11 same problem how can i troubleshoot what caused the problem |
Are you using a proprietary video driver? If so, have you reinstalled
it since you updated X.Org? |

i never expirienced such a problem yet thanks |
If you installed a proprietary driver, you would know it.
If you did not, then you don't need to reinstall it. However, the Intel video drivers in the kernel have been receiving a lot of bad press for some time now. Sorry, mate, but I used Nvidia and don't know more about it. There's much new about X.Org, and Google is your friend. |
That particular video card, or any onboard Intel is just going to be slow. They are really crappy cards. I used to have an Intel 810 and any old nvidia card is miles ahead of the intel one.

What did you upgrade that made it suddenly run slower? Or did you just try to recently play bigger files? Perhaps try to compile your own mplayer without the runtime cpu-detection or try vlc.
|
You usually get that message from mplayer if your system is cpu constrained. Have you fired up 'top' and checked for any run-away (high cpu) processes?
