mp3 encoding listing?
How can I see the encoding scheme used on a cd to compress mp3 files? I'd like to use the encoding scheme with LAME on similar mp3 files (it's probably VBR but I'm not sure).

You don't mean a regular music cd? - this is not mp3
try: file music-file.mp3 or try "mp3check" or just play a file with mpg123 -v - it will give you some info about the file |
no they are mp3s already, but they need to be compressed further. I downloaded 24 GB worth of mp3 sermons (1 hour in length, 750+ sermons) from my church's site. 3 years ago, similar mp3s were sent to a third party that compressed them and burnt them onto 12 cds. I have mpg321 and the -v command gave a lot of info about one of the files on the cd from 3 years ago.
Thanks for the help! |
