Ok, I managed to install and get running Slackware 8.1. My mouse works in shell (Runlevel 3). When I boot into X it disapears.. How can I figure out how to get it working? It's just a standard mouse -- no USB.
Actually, after I installed Slack. I logged in and typed startx. I get loged into KDE, I see the mouse pointer for a second. As soon as I move it, it dissapears. I tried running mouseconfig and I tried different settings, but nothing seems to get it working in X.
Ok, I got it. I went into the XF86Config and changed the protocol to "Microsoft". Now it works. What happened to the 'setup' command? Is it not part of Slackware?
