My generic install of Slack11 has an odd problem where the mouse freezes after a period of inactivity. This is typically when I am streaming music. The music continues to stream with a frozen mouse cursor. If I exit X11 with ctl-alt-backspace and restart X11 the mouse returns.

My system specs:
Kernel 2.4.33.3 recompiled with Athlon-XP cpu.
Alien Bob's rt61 slackbuild for the wireless card
Generic ps/2 optical mouse with scroll wheel.
XFCE4 from Slack11.

I have tried redoing xorg.conf with various mouse drivers: auto, ps/2
imps/2 without any luck. I have tried booting with noacpi, again with no luck. I am considering disabling scan luns and rebuilding the rt61 package (currently with Jan CVS code and I notice a May beta release for the rt61 code at serialmonkey)

Anyone had similiar problems or have suggestions where to look?

i think it's the wireless LAN card.
see if it also happens, when you use a conventional card.

unfortunately rt2x00 will find it's way into the kernel no sooner as 2.6.22. if you want to test it though , you can still do so by applying a patch from
http://people.redhat.com/linville/kernels/fc7/ to your kernel-source.
