Modem module probs with new kernel 2.4.24

Finally having installed 2.4.24 and got it working (kind of) I am having problems with my modem.

Modem was fine with 2.4.22, I have slmdm-2.7.10 which installs a set of modules/driver.

I followed the instructions. Make clean and make install-amr with the new kernel.

No when I ppp-on I get no tones from the speaker but the modem does connect to my ISP and I can ping them, however I cannot use my browser or IM (gaim).

depmod - a

Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.24/misc/all the modem modules.

I noticed this during the install.

I at least my camera works with the new kernel!

I don't know about the depmod thing but if you can ping successfully outside onto the internet check that your /etc/resolv.conf has your dns servers in it, they might be set in /etc/ppp/resolv.conf at the moment.
