Modem Configuration!??

I finally installed Slackware 10... I'm real happy with it!!
everything works just fine... runs fast... no complains so far!!

i'm posting because i don't know how to configure my modem...

/dev/ttyS0 -> /dev/modem ....
Creative Modem Blaster Serial Port!

i use gnome so, using modem lights will be perfect for me...
is there any tutorial (Step-by-Step) out there!?? i searched
this forum too many times but no success... i will appreciate
if someone in here guides me trough the process...

Thank You!

hi there,

did you try "pppsetup", as root. this is used to setup a modem in Slack.

There are some permission issues. To check if this is the case try ppp-on as root or su.

If this is the case I was involved with a thread about setting the permissions for modem lights as a user.

Search this site by author (shepper) and you should find it easily.
