MLB TV (Silverlight) on Slack 12 *solved*

Anyone know how to get MLB TV working on Slackware? It uses Microsoft Silverlight, which I guess is called Moonlight on linux. I installed mono with moonlight enabled but when I try loading up MLB TV it's just a blank blue window.

According to MLB.com, the video is streamed in WMV format. So, have you tried MPlayer or another program that can read that format?

I'd be interested in the outcome as I am considering getting a subscription to the Gameday Audio, which is streamed in WMA. GO BUCS!!!

My question is how long until everyone is streaming OGG? Go Open Source!

There is a big post on the Fedora section of this forum. It is in the Fedora section, but most of the post isn't Fedora(RPM) specific

MLB TV *solved*

Ah ha! I hadn't went far enough into that thread. The later posts have it updated for this year. For anyone that finds this thread, here is what you need:

mplayer
python
ClientForm found here: http://wwwsearch.sourceforge.net/Cli...m-0.2.6.tar.gz
simplejson found here: http://pypi.python.org/packages/sour...n-1.8.1.tar.gz
mlbviewer script found here: http://www.columbia.edu/~jr2075/mlbviewer.py

After installing all the prereqs, create a .mlbtv file in your home drive. Entries needed are:
Code:
user = youremailaddress
pass = yourpassword
viewer = mplayer %s
Then just run the mlbviewer script, push up or down arrow to select the game you want, and press enter.
