Is there a way to load your mixer settings without running KDE (kmix) or Gnome (gmix)? I'm tweaking on Blackbox and trying to run a wav file in .xinitrc.
i'm having the same problem... but i don't want to
use 3rd party soft... all i want to use is kmix...
i run redhat 9 kde.... is there another way to do
this!?? if so speak up! thanx!
This is the Slackware forum so I am not sure if this will apply to a Redhat system. But I am guessing that Redhat is based using Alsa sound control. Alsa provides a program to save and restore the mixer settings.
alsactl save
alsactl restore
Run the first command to save the settings to start with or whenever you want to update the startup config. Then add the second command somewhere in your startup scripts. But don't ask me where because it is a sysv distro and I couldn't even figure out how they init a NIC card.
