Mirror image recommendation needed
I am trying to create a startup USB disk from Get Slackware from the Slackware website. I clicked slackware.cs.utah.edu then I clicked slackware-13.37-iso 02-may-2011 09:46 and I cannot get it to work with Kubuntu 11.04 on my netbook. I saved the image file to my Downloads folder and when I click on the iso image icon it opens with K3b but the file is not listed in Startup Disk Creator. Is this the right iso image I should be saving to my downloads folder?

If your USB drive is large enough and you want to put the entire DVD on it, you can use isohybrid slackware-$VERSION.iso. Then dd the iso image to your flash drive.
If you have the files on a local mirror, another drive, or want to try the ftp install, use the small usb image under usb-and-pxe-installers directory. Read the README files. Note - it's best if you have a hard wired connection available. |
