mdk9.1 to slack9.0
i'm a newb ran mdk8.1 fairly easily. quite frankly i've been trying to run mdk9.1 with small success. burned the slack9.0 cd and am heavily contemplating trying the move from mdk to slack. any suggestions or hesitations would be greatly apreciated. i've been doing some research on the forum and you slack guys seem to be the most knowledgeable and friendly. hope I get a few responses. thx in advance.
I don't want to sound too biased, BUT (of course there's a but) I think you should give Slackware a shot. I've been using Linux for about 5-6 years and have tried most of the major distributions. I WISH I would've tried Slack sooner. It's not as newbie friendly as MDK tries to be, but the plus side to that is you learn a lot (about LINUX, not MDK). So don't expect any pretty GUI config tools (or advertisements on your desktop and browser menus) but do expect to read, learn, and have a rock solid system! A good place to start is probably http://www.slackware.com/book Good luck and I hope that you decide to give it a try.
I suggest let mdk partition there, make multi booting, so u can later mount mdk partition on running slack, or mount slack partition on running mdk, if u need to compare thing.
U should post in more infos wut r u often use on mdk ..
