Thanks, ill try that tomorow.

Since I designated LILO on a Floppy during install, when I go to edit LILO, it automatically writes to the disk, nice feature, huh.

Im downloading the Kernel source now so I can install the Nvidia Drivers, and i think im going to custom compile the kernel, since everyone is recommeneding it.

Do you guys know if that custom kernel compiling guide in this board still works with 9.0.

Thanks.

You don't have too boot off of the cd forever...There's a wonderful botoloader called Grub that I swear by.

Grab the alpha version from grub.sf.net. There's 2 packages - you only need the smaller one.

Unpack it.

type, as root:
mkdir /boot/grub

copy all of the files from the package to that directory

make a file called grub.conf in this new directory that has something like:

title Slackware 9
root (hd0,0)
kernel=/boot/vmlinuz ro root=/dev/hda hdc=ide-scsi

the hdc=ide-scsi part is only necessary if you have a cd burner (sub your ide drive designation...like hdd, hdb, whichever. Same for your root drive.)

now, also as root, type grub

You'll have a different prompt.

type root (hd0,0)
then type setup(hd0)
Now, type quit

You can find more info on the various OS's that Grub can boot on the grub website.
