making sense from syslog

Hi. Can someone please help me to make sense of this syslog file? I'm trying to figure out why my system always crashes when using any gui. In the middle of my work everything but my pointer freezes. I can move my pointer around, but that's it. I can't select anything or even ctrl-alt-backspace to the shell. Here's syslog:

First, I'd open a console, run the 'top' command and see if a given process was eating up your CPU/memory. Run 'man top' to get a better idea of what you're looking at. Ctrl+Alt+F1 should open a console, Ctrl+Alt+F7 should return you to the desktop.

if you want a console, it's <ctl><alt><F6>, not <F1>. Also, sometimes it's <ctl><alt><F8>, so if you get a blank screen with <F7>, try <F8> under 13.x.

According to this, you're also running a 3-Ware raid. Might want to check your raid hardware as well.

If you can't use <ctl><alt><F6> for a console and you're running in a network, try using ssh to get to your machine to check dmesg status to see if your raid is acting up.
