Making autologin whit out KDE
I decide to delete KDE packages from my slack box, and decide to make xfce my default window manager, well the case is, because i delete KDE i don't have auto-login anymore and i want to boot up and log in xfce whit out being ask for and user and an password. there's a way i could make my own user to boot up in xfce whit out being ask for user and password just like you make the auto-login stuff in kde control center.

I believe XDM has some sort of an auto-login feature that you could use. I'm not 100% sure though since I don't normally use XDM and I'm not at Linux box at the moment.
Anyone familiar with XDM? |

or just type gdmsetup in X.

Hi, i have tried to modify the Xsession file, which is really empty :( so i can't modify it. the command line gdmsetup didn't work, it just say command not found.
I tried to search for xfce4 executable, and put it in rc.4 the file that boot up the X sessions, but xfce doesn't have any executable at least i don,t find it. even looking to the xinitrc.xfce4 file says the command line to boot up whit it. it just says try out putting xfce4 but when i put it it says command not found. well, ok i don,t have auto-login whit out kde, but they have to be a way to make password less login in some file. or something. ohhh and i didn't know the name slackware came from a church, patrick is very religous? i thought that slack came because he was lazy :D |

well i have put in rc.4 the xfce4 daemons i saw running in xfce, one call xfce4-panel, didn,t work, another call xfce4, either work. it just load slack and in the part where it supposed to login to X interface it just give me and error message of xfce panel, and don,t load nothing. so i just type ctrl-alt-f6 that put you in the login prompt and enter whit my user and password, put starx and xfce loads well, but it doesn,t load or have auto login like kde  weird stuff uhhhhh
