makepkg

Pkgtools has been upgraded 3 times in 'current' the past few weeks. I have tried to 'makepkg' with all of them. And they all spit an error back at me.

The only version that seems to not spit this error has been the slackware 12.2 version

Anybody else experiencing this?

Code:
makepkg help.tgz

ERROR: Can't make output package in current directory.

Nope, running -current myself and have built a number of packages and no problems.

makepkg in -current will no longer allow you to write the package into the package tree, you must prefix the package name with an output directory such as /tmp i.e. makepkg /tmp/<package name>

Thanks for the update, it works well again.

Code:
make install DESTDIR=/tmp/a/
cd /tmp/a/
makepkg /tmp/a/filename.tgz

#instead of
#makepkg filename.tgz
