Makedev

/dev/MAKEDEV does not exist on my newly installed slackware 12.
I need to create a bunch more SCSI device id's ..
how do I do this ?
sdh - sdo [a whole bunch of USB hard disks if you need to know]

i thought for Slack12, udev will handle such creation dynamically. Not working for you?

It doesn't seem to be -
.. scratch that
It does - the USB port wasn't wired in Oo

So all is fine
