makebootdisk problem
<--- is a linux n00b
Hello. How's things? Good...
Part one
I am having problems creating a functioning boot disk in Slackware 9.
I use the makebootdisk option, and start to make a LILO boot disk using the expert option.
I set up my linux partition and my XPee partition with no problems.
I use the kernel in /usr/src/arch/i386/boot/bzImage (I think... (: ) and it appears to be going OK.
Then when I reboot, I am confronted with a LILO screen, with only one boot option called 'mount', which I did not make. And at the bottom half of the screen, I have what used to be the screen my first boot disk had.
Now, this boots into Linux fine, but I would like the option for Windows.
What is going on?
Part two
Why can I not edit the info on a boot disk from Linux? It shows up as garbled information. But the thing is, I can read it from Windows fine. Is that weird?
Thanks for your help.
