Make Slackware Xfce use compton for compositing

Hi guys.

So, i've installed compton form the slackbuilds, and set the application autostart as

Code:
compton -b
...

naturally, i created the compton.conf file, but it doesn't seem to boot compton when booting. it's still 'compositless'. What could i be doing wrong?

Kind regards...

Follow this. I used to do that when I was using XFCE.

Do you get any errors when you start Compton from an X terminal?

Also: I don't know what settings you're using, and I also don't know if Compton's defaults visibly change anything.

Here's the compton.conf I'm using:

Code:
backend = "glx";
paint-on-overlay = true;
glx-no-stencil = true;
glx-no-rebind-pixmap = true;
vsync = "opengl-swc";

menu-opacity = 0.8;
frame-opacity = 0.8;

shadow = true

# Add own_window_class Conky to conkyrc
shadow-exclude = "class_g = 'Conky'";

unredir-if-possible = true;
