make new modules for the same kernel?

I'm wondering if I already have a modules directory for kernel 2.6.10, if I need to make and make_install modules again if I rebuild the same kernel 2.6.10 and do not add any more modules?

I think you would only run " make modules && make modules_install " if you add
or remove modules from the config - just to keep everything in sync.
